Jidhar bhi raah tujhe le jaaye, wahan sukoon banke thahar jaa,
Chaand ki roshni jaisi thandak, teri saanson mein utar jaa.
Jo beet gaya, use mitti banke neeche hi rehne de,
Apne aaj ko thaam ke rakh, kal ko saza mat dete reh.
Main apni khamoshi se hi apna hisaab chuka dunga,
Tu apni rooh ke kandhon se bojh dheere-dheere utaar dega.
Kabhi kisi din meri yaad aaye, to dard sambhal ke mat rakhna,
Bas ek pal halki si muskaan de, phir aage badh jaana.
Kisi ka dil tod kar bhi agar aadmi sacch-much badal jaaye,
To uska badal jaana hi sabse badi dua ban jaaye.
Aur agar humaari koi yaad bachi rahe, to shukr banke hi bas reh jaaye
Rabb kare tu hamesha theek, hamesha salamat reh jaaye.

Perhaps, Another Time
Wherever the road may take you,
settle there like peace.
Let the cool of moonlight
find its way into your breath.
Let what has passed
return to the earth.
Hold on to the day before you.
Do not punish tomorrow
for the hurt of yesterday.
I will settle what I owe
with my silence.
And you,
little by little,
lay down the weight
your soul has carried.
If someday
you remember me,
do not hold the sorrow close.
Let one small smile
pass over your face,
and then,
go on.
Even someone
who has broken a heart
may truly change.
And perhaps
their becoming better
is the greatest prayer
one could ever make.
And if anything of us
should remain,
let it remain
as gratitude.
